My original apple battery died prematurely (less cycles than apple claims their battery is capable), but I didn't had apple care, so I was offered $90 replacement. However apple only gives 90 day warranty for that. So it is $1 a day. Other option would be to buy new apple battery from Amazon with 1 year warranty. But original batteries are not getting good reviews either, so I tried this one instead. So far I have used it one day and I cannot comment on longevity, but initial thoughts are encouraging. Seems it is BETTER than original! It lasted more than 4 hours on first charge. Even fresh original battery could barely last 3 hours. This battery is at least 100 grams lighter (I weighted it on not very precise scale), fit and finish is excellent, comes with very useful SD/SDHC card reader (they don't advertise SDHC capability, but I tested). Aluminum sheet on the bottom of the battery is thicker than on original, but it does not affect fit (top part is a millimeter) shorter. I hope that battery will last at least one year or more, so it will be worth every penny. In order to be fair I have to comment about shortcomings too. When you press battery meter button on a bottom of a battery it just lights up once, led lights don't chase each other, but even such limited functionality informs very well about battery status. Battery shows 5424 mAh capacity and 98% health out of the box, but lasted longer than original apple battery. In short, I highly recommend it.
